関西モジュラーフェスティバル (Kansai Festival of Modular 2023) 開催決定

皆様こんにちは、梅田ロフト店デジタルマーチャンダイザーの阪口です。

今年も関西モジュラーフェスティバル2023開催が決定しました！
今回はTFoM 10TH ANNIVERSARYを翌週に控えていることもあり海外から多くのアーティスト、メーカーが来日するスペシャルバージョンとなっております。
各種メーカーによる製品紹介、ワークショップ、モジュラーシンセの展示、中古モジュールコーナー、そして海外ゲストを加えた総勢30組ものモジュラープレーヤーを招聘してコンサートを開催します！

ライブアクトには2020年のTFoM配信番組においてRichard Devineと出演するなど話題となったロサンゼルスの作曲家兼サウンドデザイナーAnthony Baldino、ドイツを代表するD&Bプロデューサー/DJ Kabuki、Buchla公認アーティストのtamiX、2023年Thrill Jockey Recordsからアルバムをリリースする等、精力的に活動しているKiyoshi Izumiなど錚々たるアーティストが出演し、モジュラーシンセを使用した様々なライブパフォーマンスを披露します。

また今回は世界的な外出制限がなくなったこともあり多くの海外メーカーの方が来日する関係で、海外メーカーを含めたDIYワークショップやレクチャー等、現地で充実した多くのコンテンツを楽しんでいただける予定となっております。

Guest Live Act Profile

Anthony Baldino

Anthony Baldino is a composer and sound designer based in LA whose work spans an enormous range of production avenues. The likelihood that you haven’t heard his work is nearly impossible with synth and sound design work in film scores such as Wakanda Forever, Tenet, Venom and music and sound design in too many trailer campaigns to list. With Nope, Uncut Gems, Prometheus, Ex-Machina, Star Wars: Rogue One, Avengers: Infinity War and Tenet just to name a few, from there his work ventures to the opposite pole of production with custom sound design based compositions for Dolby Labs mixed in Atmos, remixes and continues on to mind bending modular synthesizer performances. Be sure to check out his debut LP, “Twelve Twenty Two”.

アンソニー・バルディーノはロサンゼルスを拠点とする作曲家兼サウンドデザイナー、その仕事ぶりは非常に幅広い制作手段に及びます。 『ワカンダ・フォーエバー』、『テネット』、『ヴェノム』などの映画音楽におけるシンセサイザーおよびサウンド・デザインの仕事、そして枚挙にいとまのない予告キャンペーンにおける音楽やサウンド・デザインを思えば彼の作品を聞いたことがない、ということは無理でしょう。ほんの数例を挙げるとすれば、『ノープ』、『アンカット ジェムズ』、『プロメテウス』、『エクス マキナ』、『スター ウォーズ: ローグ ワン』、『アベンジャーズ: インフィニティ ウォー』、『テネット』など、彼の作品は Atmos でミックスしたDolby Labs 向けのカスタム サウンド デザインをベースにした作品を制作するという、制作の対極に挑戦し、リミックスや、モジュラー シンセサイザーのドキッとするようなパフォーマンスを続けています。彼のデビューLP『Twelve Twenty Two』をぜひチェックしてみてください。

Kabuki (Germany)

KABUKIの鼓動のルーツはヒップホップ、ジャングル、UKベースといった異なったジャンルに由来する。20年以上にわたるプロデュース歴はビートサイエンスの隅々までカバーしており、常にその場のリアルなフィーリングにフォーカスしてきた。活動はプロデュースだけにとどまらず、ソフトウェアシンセサイザーのプリセット、サンプルライブラリー制作、そしてAbbey Road Instituteでシンセサイザーの講師としても務めたことがある。現在New FormsというKabukiのアーティスティックなビジョンを最大限に具現化しているプロジェクトをベースミュージックの権威であるdBridgeと共同で主催している。また、Beat Excursionsという独自のプラットフォームを確立しており、ジャングル、ジューク、ダブステップを網羅した各種作品をリリースしている。

The heart of KABUKI beats across the disparate genres of Hip Hop, Jungle and UK Bass. For more than 20 years his music productions have covered the full spectrum of beat science, always zeroing in on a particular feeling. Kabuki has also programmed preset sounds for software synthesizers, created sample libraries, and taught sound synthesis at the Abbey Road Institute. A project that shows the full scope of Kabukis artistic vision is the New Forms event series that he initiated together with British Bass music figurehead dBridge. Kabuki has also established his own platform called Beat Excursions, where he is releasing his own productions, remixes and collaborations blurring the boundaries between Jungle, Juke and Dubstep.

tamiX

tamiX, a professional artist of improvisational electronic live music and visual arts, refusing to perform with computer programs or software, specializes in unprepared visual creativity, and music performance with standalone gear to demonstrate physically natural effects as the atmosphere changes likewise. As Buchla & Eventide endorsed artist, with Buchla 200e modular synthesizer system, her live improvisation has created an impressively unique mode filled audiences with experimentally rhyming tunes.

tamiXは即興エレクトロニックライブミュージックのプロアーティストであり、ビジュアルアーティスト。コンピュータプログラム、ソフトウェアを使用したパフォーマンスを拒否、即興的なビジュアルクリエイティビティと音楽を専門としています。
身体的に自然なパフォーマンスを発揮するためのスタンドアロン機器を使用したパフォーマンス、雰囲気が変化するときの効果も同様です。Buchla とEventideがアーティストとして推奨しているようにBuchla 200e モジュラーシンセサイザーシステムを使用した、彼女の即興演奏により聴衆は実験的にグルーブによって印象的でユニークなモードに導かれます。

Kiyoshi Izumi

大阪中津 SOMAを日常的なDIYの拠点にして、食の場、レーベル、ギャラリーを運営する、絵画／彫刻／映像／サウンドなど自在にリミックスし作品を編むアーティスト。
1990年に美術作家として初個展。1997年にエイフェックス・ツイン主宰リフレックスよりソロ・デビュー。2000年 1st,2004年 2ndアルバム、2011年にはアシンメドレー名義のアルバムをAltz Musicaより発表。2016年には自身が描いた7mに及ぶ絵画をCDサイズに分割、切断したピースをジャケットにした4枚組アルバムを発表した。
2015年にはホイットニーミュージアムでの小杉武久のパフォーマンスに参加するなど、ジャンルを超えた活動を行う。２０２３年YoshimiOとのユニット、YoshimiOizumikiYoshiduOのアルバムをThrill Jockey Recordsよりリリース。

HATAKEN

モジュラーシンセサイザーライブパフォーマー、エレクトロニックミュージックプロデューサー。
モジュラーシンセを駆使し新たなエレクトロ ミュージック表現を探求。 国内をはじめ、世界中のモジュールメーカー/アーティスト/ファンから注目されている。

90年代より北米、欧州、アジア各地のフェス、クラブで精力的にライヴ活動を行い、Greg HunterとのデュオWåveshåperは高く評価されBOX CDとして再発される。
2013年よりTokyo Festival of Modularを主催し、10周年を迎える。モジュラーシンセの国際見本市として、海外メーカーの展示、海外アーティストのコンサートを開催し、モジュラーシンセ普及にも努めている。
2016年頃よりギタリストSUGIZOとのデュオ即興ライブユニットの活動を開始、2022年アルバムCD ”the Voyage to the higher self”をリリース。日本のジャムシーンを盛り上げるべく積極的に活動を展開している。
2021年から東京大学memu earth labによるOtocare プロジェクトにも参加。“環境において音が培う価値”についての研究中。
2023年Fuji Rock Festival, Pyramid GardenにCoppe’のサポートメンバーとしてDJ Kenseiと出演。

Hataken

Modular synthesizer live performer and electronic music producer.
Continuing to use modular synths, he explores new electro music expressions. He is attracting attention from module manufacturers, artists, and fans both in Japan and around the world.
Since the 1990s, he has been actively performing live at festivals and clubs throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, and his duo Wåveshåper with Greg Hunter has been highly acclaimed and has been reissued as a box CD.
He has been hosting the Tokyo Festival of Modular since 2013, marking his 10th anniversary. As an international trade fair for modular synths, we host exhibitions by overseas manufacturers, concerts by overseas artists, and work to popularize modular synths.
Around 2016, he started working as a duo improvisational live unit with guitarist SUGIZO, and released the album CD “the Voyage to the higher self” in 2022. He is actively working to boost the Japanese jam scene.
From 2021, he will also be participating in the Otocare project by memu Earth lab at the University of Tokyo. Currently researching “values ​​cultivated in the environment.”
Appeared at the 2023 Fuji Rock Festival, Pyramid Garden with DJ KENSEI as a support member of Coppe’.

JUN (80KIDZ / P4L MODULAR)

07年より80KIDZのメンバーとして活動を開始。以後6枚のフル・アルバム、リミックス集やダンストラックEPシリーズ等コンスタントに作品をリリースしている。 ダンスミュージックに重点を置いたモジュラーシンセ・コレクティブ「Patching for life」のメンバーとしても活動し、2020年より自身のガレージブランド『P4L MODULAR』を運営している。KFoMでは新製品となるモジュールの展示も予定している。
